The Madison Concourse Hotel is seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate has prior experience in an upscale or high-volume kitchen, works well under pressure, and takes pride in delivering consistent, high-quality dishes. This is a full-time role with typical shifts from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Flexibility is required, including availability on weekends and holidays. Starting wage for this position is $20 per hour, based on experience.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and plate appetizers, entrées, and desserts according to recipes and presentation standards
Maintain consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation
Communicate and collaborate effectively with the team during busy service periods
Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
Assist with inventory, freshness checks, and special dietary requests
Qualifications:
Previous line cook experience (hotel or upscale dining preferred)
Strong culinary skills with attention to detail
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Culinary education is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in hot, fast-paced kitchen environments
Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly during service
