Surveillance Lead Observer
 
SUMMARY
Assists with the operational activities of the department on an assigned shift. Utilizes surveillance equipment to detect illegal activities, violations of gaming regulations, in-house policy infractions, any guest and/or employee safety or security breaches. Supervises staff in accordance with company policies and procedures. Responsible for training and coaching employees.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Responsible for all operational activities of the department on an assigned shift.
  2. Recommends procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department
  3. Recommends safety and loss prevention policies and procedures
  4. Interface with applicable departments to ensure adherence to all company policies
  5. Interface with all applicable law enforcement agencies
  6. Develops proactive strategies to optimize opportunities for preventative measures
  7. Participates in departmental brainstorming meetings
  8. Operates and trains employees on all surveillance equipment
  9. Maintains daily and monthly reports
  10. Walk the casino floor
  11. Other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Trains, supervises, motivates and evaluates staff on assigned shift
  2. Assists with company investigations
  3. Complete Human Resources paperwork and submit in a timely and accurate manner
  4. Communicate with Supervisors, Manager and Directors on Departmental operations
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Must be able to communicate effectively in English in reading, writing and speaking. Basic arithmetic skills required.
  2. A minimum of one year of experience in casino gaming surveillance is required in order to be considered for this position
  3. High school diploma or GED required
  4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and telephone protocol. Computer literate with emphasis on Word and Excel. Ability to learn new software applications. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills required. This is normally acquired through a combination of high school and two to four years of administrative experience.
  5. Must have thorough knowledge of all casino games. Must have thorough knowledge of all Nevada Gaming Control Board regulations.
  6. Must be available to work a flexible schedule which may include working evening, weekends and holidays.
  7. Must be able to obtain all applicable federal, state and local regulator permits as required by the position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
 Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time. May be exposed to extreme heat or cold, noisy and smoky areas. Must be able to reach, bend, push, pull and grasp. Must have normal vision with or without corrective lenses.
