Internal Auditor – Remote (KZN)
Our client seeks a meticulous and adaptable Internal Auditor with a solid accounting background to join their team remotely for an initial 6-month contract.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits to verify financial data accuracy across multiple platforms
• Plan and execute financial, compliance, and operational audits to assess the effectiveness, accuracy, and integrity of:
  • Financial records
  • Internal controls
  • Software integrations
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Operational efficiency
• Reconcile financial records to ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Identify control gaps, risks, and inefficiencies and provide recommendations
• Prepare detailed audit reports and follow-up documents
• Maintain open communication with the Client's management team
• Provide feedback for system and process enhancements
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., finance, IT, compliance, operations) to understand data flows and business processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• CA(SA) or CPA certification (Preferred)
• 3-6 years’ experience in internal audit, financial reconciliation, or accounting, ideally in technology/SaaS
• Hands-on experience auditing and reconciling financial data across platforms (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, Stripe, Deel, PayFit, or custom systems)
• Strong understanding of internal controls, financial data flows, and risk-based audit approaches
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with audit/data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with strong attention to detail
• USA working hours
• Experience with cloud-based finance systems and integrated software (e.g., Salesforce)
• Understanding of subscription-based revenue models and deferred revenue
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple audits concurrently
• Process-driven mindset focused on system and workflow improvements
• Experience working remotely and asynchronously with management/clients
