Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor
Reports To: Director of Housekeeping
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
The Housekeeping Supervisor�s responsibilities include assigning tasks to the housekeeping staff, identifying and reporting cases of tardiness, and monitoring cleaning supplies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assigning housekeeping tasks to staff and inspecting work to ensure that the prescribed standards of cleanliness are met.
- Providing training to the housekeeping staff.
- Oversee staff daily.
- Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness.
- Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence.
- Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job.
- Investigating and addressing complaints regarding poor housekeeping service.
- Respond to customer complaints and special requests.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach, and rubber gloves.
- Participate in large cleaning projects as required.
- Inform management of any equipment or furniture in need of repair.
- Screening housekeeping applicants and recommending promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.
- Able to open and close the house when needed.
- Able to cover Room attendant/ houseman callouts if needed.
- Perform any other duties requested by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor in a Hotel or similar role.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations.
- Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products.
- Knowledge of various cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Excellent organizational and team management skills.
- Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
EDUCATION:
- High School degree, GED or Equivalent.
