DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adheres to all departmental and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
  • Responsible for providing a constant supply of clean linens for the entire hotel. 
  • May be responsible for cleaning hotel guests’ personal items.
  • Ensures work area is neat and orderly 
  • Sorts, washes, dries, folds, and stores linens according to established procedures.
  • Sweeps and cleans work area and cleans/mops restrooms.
  • Performs routine maintenance on the laundry equipment, such as cleaning dryer traps and greasing flat ironer.
  • Maintains production output according to level of room occupancy.
  • Assists vendors who, as part of their service, perform inspections and tests of cleaning agents and operations.
  • Counts and processes reclaimed items.
  • Weighs and counts all received linen.
  • Keeps accurate records of delivered and received linen counts from all receiving departments; maintains daily worksheets.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters
  • Delivers quality products, and service that meets the guest needs
  • Works in a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized manner abiding by all health and safety regulations
  • Maintains a professional appearance and acts as a role model according to the established grooming and appearance policy.
  • Stay informed on department and property knowledge and promotions
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous casino/hotel industry experience preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required 
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance
  • Must perform duties with a sense of urgency
  • Must be able to work as a team with other employees
  • Six months of previous cleaning and laundry experience preferred.
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of computerized systems.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work area.
  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position
  • Ability to inspect laundry items, maintain inventory control and perform all associated recordkeeping.
  • Must have ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Requires the ability to twist and lift up to 50 pounds, and push/pull loads of up to 100 pounds, so as to be able to load, wash, and store laundry items.
  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Applicants should possess exceptions interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
