Position Summary:   

Oversees that guests are welcomed, registered into the hotel's computer system, and assigned an appropriate room or suite. Performs various tasks, such as making or confirming reservations, verifying, and collecting guests' payments, issuing room keys, and contacting housekeeping or maintenance when guests report a problem. In addition to managing the daily operations of the front desk, provides front desk clerks with necessary training and support.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes superior guest service.

  • Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.

  • Oversees the resolution of guest concerns, ensuring guest satisfaction.

  • Maintains all essential front desk equipment and supplies.

  • Assists with the oversight of gift shop and related stocking and transactions.

  • Tracking and posting appropriate food, liquor, or telephone charges to guests' accounts.

  • Completing bookkeeping duties, like balancing accounts and conducting nightly financial audits.

  • Recording and referring patron comments and complaints to the appropriate hotel management.

  • Ensures front desk staff is trained in all front desk operations, including check in/out procedures, telephone procedures, overall shift procedures, hotel amenities and computer systems.

  • Ensures front desk staff is trained in and follows financial control procedures for cash, vouchers, inventories, and receivables.

  • Issues Players Cards to interested guests.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).

  • Two (2) years’ experience in a customer facing role in a hospitality environment.

  • Two (2) years cash handling experience.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.

  • Must have strong organizational, managerial and communications skills.

  • Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers/point of sales system.

  • Must be able to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours. Must be able to withstand prolonged standing.

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. and carry 20 lbs.

  • Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.

  • Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some college or training in hospitality industry.

  • Previous experience as Front Desk Associate in a 3-4 Diamond hotel.

  • Casino Resort experience.

Shift Schedule:

Sunday and Monday 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Tuesday, Wednesday Days Off

Thursday, Friday & Saturday 7:00 p.m. - 3:00 a.m.
