If you share our values and would like to work with skilled professionals, Armour is presently seeking a Hotel Accountant   Reporting to the Hotel Controller, the Hotel Accountant will work closely with the accounting staff and Management teams at the Delta Hotel by Marriot Dartmouth, Barrington hotel and Muir Hotel in Downtown Halifax. The Hotel Accountant is involved in all aspects of day-to-day financial accounting of our hospitality properties.   As the Hotel Accountant, you’ll get to: Prepare timely and accurate journal entries as required in completing the day-to-day accounting and financial month-end close process Perform account reconciliation and ensure accuracy of cost allocation Provide support to inventory and supplies tracking Assist with the accounts receivable process, including group master billing, payment processing and collection, reporting, and reconciling the daily hotel revenue and receivables Work closely with sales, room reservation and front desk, and provide support to resolve billing and payment issues in timely manner and maintenance customer service satisfaction Assist with accounts payable processing Regularly visit the properties to perform cash balancing, reconciliations, and float counts Assist with financial statement preparation and review Assist with activities related to the year-end audit and annual budget   What we’re looking for: Excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to partnering with department leaders in the Hospitality division Proficient in the use of Excel Ability to multi-task and prioritize Strong analytical thinker who operates with a high attention to detail Knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software, considered an asset Knowledge of Opera PMS software would be considered an asset University degree or technical diploma with a focus in finance or accounting Minimum 2-3 years related experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.   What's in it for you?
