THE POSITION

We are looking at the Alt Hotel Calgary University District for a naturally enthusiastic and inquisitive Guest Service Agent who is welcoming and can effortlessly connect with people. Overseeing our guests' experience, they light up when interacting with people and ensure that guests have a memorable stay thanks to their passionate customer service and attention to detail. Armed with resourcefulness and talent as a speaker, they adapt creatively and independently to different situations and unforeseen events, sometimes with diplomacy and sometimes with camaraderie. Willing to take on new challenges, they know how to manage their priorities and will be required to perform a variety of tasks essential to the smooth running of the hotel's operations. 

 

WHAT WE HOPE YOU CAN BRING

  • Customer service skills (one year experience) and a sincere desire to help others.
  • Good observation skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Active listening and ability to ask insightful questions.
  • Good knowledge of the area and the activities offered.
  • Excellent organizational skills, responsibility, and attention to detail.
  • A positive and trustworthy attitude
  • The ability to stand for several hours at a time.
  • Good knowledge of Office Suite and experience with OPERA is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English.
  • French is an asset.

 

WHAT YOU’D DO

  • Provide attentive and personalized service in collaboration with other departments.
  • Provide information and advice to guests; process and verify details during check-in/check-out and ensure the smooth running of internal activities.
  • Take reservations and follow up on confirmations and invoices.
  • Respond to guest requests with care and attention and contribute, through your individuality and creativity, to continually improving the guest experience.
