SUMMARY:  Responsible for keeping guest rooms, supply closets and supply carts clean, neat, and well supplied.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Remove dirty linen from beds in guest room and remake with fresh clean linens.
  2. Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive and professional image. Make eye contact, smile and greet guest when seen.
  3. Have knowledge if where SDS booklet is located for your area.
  4. Report any damage and/or maintenance deficiencies in need of repair to the supervisor on duty.
  5. Clean and sanitize all areas of the bathroom to include bathtubs, shower stalls and walls, Jacuzzis and mop floors.
  6. Clean windowsills, by wet dusting and/or polishing, dust all furniture in room.
  7. Vacuums floors and under beds daily.
  8. Empty trash and ensure that trash receptacles are clean.
  9. Disinfect telephone speaker and receiver.
  10. Maintain record of rooms cleaned throughout the shift.  Inform Status Board Operator or Assistant Housekeeper of any problems or unusual circumstances.
  11. Assist hotel guests with housekeeping-related requests.  Immediately contact supervisor if unable to assist.
  12. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with, all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members and management in English in both written and verbal form. This is usually obtained through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must be able to use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces and utilize personal protective equipment in accordance with OSHA hazard communication standard.
  3. Must be able to present a well-groomed appearance.
  4. Requires regular and predictable attendance
  5. May require working in a smoky, noisy area
 
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work may require evening, early morning, holiday and week end schedules. 
Must be able to bend, squat and kneel throughout assigned shift. 
Must be able to occasionally reach above head in performing job duties. 
Able to push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. 
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
