Position Overview
We require a full-time General Manager to be responsible for the development and management of a front of house ‘A’ team. This includes recruitment and structured training of the Guest Services Manager, Housekeeping Manager, Spa Manager, Executive Chef, Maintenance Manager and Front of House Manager, for smooth running of all amenities. This position is responsible for maintaining exceptionally high standards within an elevated property.
Salary: $125K - $$150K plus an attractive bonus

Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
Builds and inspires a high performing team that delivers outstanding guest experiences and achieves top notch engagement and retention results.
Leads workforce planning, recruitment, and succession planning in partnership with People & Culture to ensure the right talent is in place.
Coaches, develops, and performance‑manages team members, using structured feedback, recognition, and corrective action when required.
Work with People & Culture on a wage grid, retention incentives and hiring and terminating.
Conduct three-month probationary reviews and annual reviews.
Ensure awareness of all regarding policies and rules and not only obey them but assists in enforcing them.
Ensure staff uniforms are worn at all times.
Implements and manages the hotel's health and safety plan following meetings with the health and safety committee.
Revenue & Financials
Owns P&L delivery for rooms, spa and F&B, optimizing revenue, labor productivity, and profitability while protecting guest satisfaction.
Work closely with Guest Services and Director of Revenue & Sales to ensure rooms are ready to sale and the highest possible revenue is being generated depending on the time of year.
Take lead on creating off season events and activations through the year, with assistance from corporate team.
Monitors daily and monthly financial performance, identifying variances and leading corrective action plans.
Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
Operations
Provides strategic operational leadership across Rooms, Spa, and Food & Beverage, ensuring seamless, branded service delivery throughout the guest journey.
Leads the Nordic spa operation (guest services, rituals, treatments, thermal circuit, and F&B), ensuring a distinctive, elemental wellness experience (earth, water, air, fire, ether) that drives guest loyalty and premium rate realization.
Oversees food and beverage offerings balancing the ideas of quality, local, unique, and elevated service with strong financial performance.
Creates and maintains Housekeeping and Guest Services policies and procedures.
Works with management team to respond to disturbances in guest rooms, medical emergencies, guests and including overall safety and security throughout the property.
Insists upon meticulous cleanliness and orderliness of all the properties, through inspections and documentation.
Meets weekly with management team (GMs across all properties), plus conducts weekly meetings with on-site managers and / or supervisors.
Proactive approach on guest comments/issues, ensuring these are handle in a timely and professional manner meeting or exceeding guest expectations.
Schedules and tracks all deep cleans, preventative maintenance and service contracts across all areas of the business.
Work in tandem with Managers and Supervisors to ensure optimum coverage over a seven-day week.
Leads by example and supervises daily operations of the front-line employees, providing hands on assistance and motivational leadership.
Establish the hotel’s reputation for quality by inspecting rooms, public areas, and the surrounding grounds for cleanliness and upkeep on a periodic basis.
Ensure group arrivals are efficiently taken care of, and update the Sales Manager on any issues.
Ensure effective procedures are in place with payments, email and text correspondence, releasing of damage deposits and batch closes.
Observes all roles and guests multiple times daily by being present in various departments and assists and leads in the moment.
New Business Development
Acts as a visible brand ambassador and commercial leader, building partnerships and concepts that grow market share, spa and F&B capture, and total resort revenue.
Evaluates operational issues to determine how competitive and current it is with the latest trends in the industry.
Become an ambassador for Basecamp in the local community, creating positive relationships with other businesses in the region.
Requirements
A minimum of five year’s experience in a similar role, overseeing a property of similar size and scope.
Be familiar with the operation and programming of various property management systems.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows – Outlook, Excel, Word.
A solid understanding of pricing, budgets and cost controls.
Food and beverage experience within a hotel environment with multiple outlets.
Spa experience within a hotel.
Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract for three years minimum.
First Aid Certification (will be training).
