Position Summary:

The Gate House Attendant at Edgewood Tahoe Resort is a position that is highly valued in creating a lasting first impression for our guests. When welcoming each guest upon arrival to our Resort, this position must be knowledgeable and articulate to effectively communicate during these brief interactions and deliver the authentic service Edgewood is known for. In this position the Gate House Attendant exhibits excellence in their commitment to our guests.

Essential Functions:
  • Warmly and authentically welcome guests upon arrival to our Resort in accordance with Edgewood Tahoe Resort Service Standards.
  • Maintain professionalism and act as the point of reference for guests in need of assistance or information upon arrival or when departing.
  • Build rapport with all guests and patrons.
  • Uphold Edgewood policies and procedures and resolve challenges encountered at the main entry gate.
  • Acquire extensive knowledge and stay current with resort amenities and related information, as well as ongoing scheduled special events taking place on resort property.
  • Understand guests’ needs and provide them with personalized service solutions by suggesting activities and facilities provided by Edgewood, or knowledge of local amenities.
  • Effectively communicate intra and inter-departmentally via phone or radio to find or relay information.
  • Provide support to the Safety & Asset Protection team and management as required, and in cases of emergency.
  • Comfortable working indoors and out, and throughout various seasonal weather conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. 

Qualifications / Special Skills:
  • The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly effective hospitality professional with previous hotel-related experience.
  • Proven experience in a service-based role advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Articulate with excellent communication skills.
  • Polite and confident with a great deal of patience. 
  • Ability to multitask and manage time.
  • Must be able to operate a tablet or other computer device and navigate associated applications without assistance.
  • Aptitude in resolving issues with solution-based customer focus. 
  • Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
