Summary: Nestled on the shores of Lake Lanier lies Lanier Island Resort – an island destination spread out across 1200 acres unlike any resort in Georgia. Our property features 282 guest rooms, indoor/outdoor meeting spaces, golf course, multiple dining options, nature trails, and other points of interest. As a Front Desk team member, you’ll be responsible for delivering the utmost in guest satisfaction and helping to create memorable experiences for all of our guests from the moment they arrive. Beginning with a warm arrival experience, you’ll set the tone for the remainder of their stay and be their ambassador. You’ll help our guests navigate the island, book a golf cart to explore, make reservations at one of our restaurants, offer local insights, and book their return stay. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Greet and check in all guests
  • Assist in all guest needs and requirements, anticipating them when possible
  • Maintain correct room status at all times, keeping Housekeeping informed of all changes.
  • Assist guest in making future reservations
  • Maintain knowledge of all current policy and procedures
  • Assist with arrival/departure
  • Be an ambassador for Lanier Islands by assisting guest with other island activities
  • Communicates with superiors and co-workers about the status of guest rooms, guest requests, and maintenance issues. Utilizes the daily log book to coordinate information for all day shifts.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience working in hotels/resorts preferred but not required.
 
Language Skills:
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate either verbal in English and non-verbal methods.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English and respond in writing
  • Ability to read and interpret general business document or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and associates.
 
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.
 
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
