POSITION PURPOSE:
Sells and service of food and/or beverage to include order-taking and delivery of food and/or beverages.  This task is to be handled in a quick, efficient and courteous manner in accordance with all company standards, policies and procedures resulting in a high level of guest satisfaction.
 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Carry work cards at all times during your shift. Serve alcohol responsibly in accordance with alcohol awareness training.
  2. Inform the immediate supervisor of any product shortages and equipment needs.
  3. Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive and professional image.
  4. Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so.  Comply with Board of Health Standards.
  5. Must maintain good personal grooming and uniform standards while on duty.
  6. Have knowledge of where your MSDS booklet is located for your area.
  7. Displays knowledge of all emergency procedures.
  8. Responsible for informing the immediate supervisor on duty of any team member or guest opportunities.
  9. Performs any other duties as directed by management.
  10. Promotes a safe and clean environment for fellow team members and guests.
  11. Always keep your work area clean.
  12. Greet guests pleasantly, quickly, efficiently and with a smile.
  13. Know the menu completely including daily specials, food preparations and prices.
  14. Use suggestive selling (cocktails, appetizers, desserts).
  15. Take guests orders and accurately input the order into micros.
  16. Observe and anticipate guest needs, clear tables between courses and refill beverages throughout the meal.
  17. Present check for payment when all guest needs have been met.
  18. Complete assigned side work and additional daily tasks.
  19. Serve guest complete meals using trays with covers on food.  Serve all sides and accompaniments in a timely, efficient manner according to all Standards and Sequence of Service.
  20. Notify the manager on duty for voids or any guest complaints.
  21. Monitor any suspicious guests looking to walk out.  Be visible where guests can see you.
  22. You must pre-bus your tables.  Remove condiments at the same time.
  23. Check your food before serving; if it's not presentable return it.
  24. Use proper garnish for food items.
  25. Introduction to guests for an on coming relief server before leaving on break or going off duty.
  26. Request identification from guest when legal age is questioned.

  4. Must be able to handle a flexible schedule.

  7. Must be capable of lifting 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
  8. Requires the physical ability to stand for long periods of time, bend or reach to a height of 6 feet.
  9. Requires normal, corrected vision range and absence of color blindness.  Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols.
  10. Requires eye/hand coordination. Requires normal sense of smell, taste, touch and sound.  Requires regular and predictable attendance. Requires good verbal communication skills.
 
 
OTHER:
Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smokey indoor service.  Work may be performed in small areas with a 3 foot access.  Task performed from a non-sitting position.  Team members will be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull and grasp.  These tasks include the maintenance and care of an assigned area and constant contact with team members and guests.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
           
            Education:  High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D)
 
Experience:  1 year tray service experience in a full service dining room.
 
Licenses or Certificates:  Must be able to obtain all required work cards for the jurisdiction in which the property is located.
