PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises assigned Room Attendants and Housepersons, carrying out performance appraisals, training and developing staff.
  • Ensures that guestrooms are maintained in accordance with Hotel standards and meet Chelsea Key Service Standards.
  • Ensures surrounding public areas, fire exit stairs and guest corridors are kept clean. Monitors the work of the Room Attendants and reassigns and rechecks incomplete jobs. 
  • Inspects VIP rooms and ensures the VIP rooms are cleaned in accordance with Hotel standards and guarantees.
  • Checks linen and Room Attendants cart supplies and arranges for delivery of replacement stock.
  • Determines order of priority and assigns rush rooms to the Room Attendants. Checks the status of rooms daily, and prepares necessary reports, updates Opera system with Room status, checks any discrepancy, due out requests.
  • Ensures staff wears and uses safety protective equipment where necessary and work safely following safety rules and policies.
  • Responds to all radio communications during the course of their shift.
  • Ensures that inspection forms are completed.
  • Ensures that vacant and clean rooms are put in Opera.
  • Completes any required report on Accident/Illness.
  • Complies with Hotel Safety policies and procedures and ensures colleagues follow it.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Reports incidents requiring discipline, does follow up

Business

  • Comply with all Hotel and Departmental procedures and policies (standard uniform dress code enforced; name tags worn; proper safety equipment utilized; etc).
  • Reports outstanding discrepancies to the Front Office.

Customer Satisfaction

  • Communicate with customers in friendly and positive manner, responding to guest’s complaints and making guest appreciation follow-up calls and logs.

Process Improvement/ Productivity

  • Assigns special assignments to the Room Attendants such as Housecleaning of guestrooms.
ACADEMIC AND WORKING QUALIFICATIONS

Working Experience
 Minimum 2 years related experience.


Knowledge
 Knowledge of Excel and Word.


Education
 Post Secondary Education required, with previous knowledge of the industry in a supervisory capacity preferred.
 Hospitality Degree/Diploma preferred.


Soft Skills
 Positive attitude, willingness to learn.


Language
 Ability to communicate effectively (written & verbal) in English.


Physical Requirements
 Ability to stand for 8 hours per shift.
 Perform such tasks as: bending, storing, kneeling, carrying, moving and pushing furniture, equipment, and supplies.
