Job Summary

Responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the Event Planning operation. The Director of Events implements strategies that deliver performance and guest service to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of ownership, the Sheraton Brand, guests, and associates while maximizing financial performance and return on investment.

Salary Range: $140,000 to $150,000 annually based on experience. This role is eligible for performance-based bonus.

Work Hours:

  • Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs.
  • Scheduling includes days, nights, holidays, and weekends dependent on hotel events and functions.

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated ability to drive the achievement of business goals through aligning people, process, structure, information, and communication systems in a dynamic environment.
  • Previous Marriott experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading high performing teams and operations.
  • Astute, pragmatic business professional; business-fluent and purposeful.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift/push/push up to 40lbs regularly.

      Job Responsibilities:

      • Ensures the Event Planning operation meets or exceeds 4 Diamond and Sheraton Brand Standards.
      • Implements strategies to improve Event Service Scores (ESS) and provides monthly analytics, metrics, and reporting on the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
      • Develops annual budget, monthly forecasting, and cost controls for the Event Planning operation.
      • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth planning and execution of events.
      • Recruits, selects, and retains a best-in-class team.
      • Establishes development plans and expectations for the Event Planning Team.
      • Champions a positive and collaborative culture where employees can thrive.
      • Champions all service standards, standard operation procedures, and safety standards.
      • Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with hotel policy and applicable laws.
      • Follows all additional duties as assigned by management.
