Key Responsibilities:

Accounting and Financial Oversight: Managing daily casino accounting functions, month-end closing, and balance sheet reviews. 

Financial Reporting: Preparing financial statements, reports, and tax returns for management and regulatory bodies.

Compliance: Ensuring adherence to internal controls, GAAP, and gaming regulations (including Title 31 and Bank Secrecy Act). 

Cash Flow Management: Monitoring cash flow and ensuring proper handling and accounting of casino funds. 

Auditing and Analysis: Conducting revenue audits, analyzing financial data, and providing recommendations for improvement. 

Regulatory Liaison: Responding to inquiries from regulatory agencies, auditors, and other stakeholders. 

Supervision and Team Management: Supervising accounting staff, providing guidance, and fostering a positive work environment. 

Budgeting and Planning: Participating in the annual budgeting process and contributing to financial planning. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with various casino departments (gaming, operations, compliance) to ensure transparency and accuracy. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong Accounting and Financial Knowledge: In-depth understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and gaming regulations. 
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and solve problems. 
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication with various stakeholders, including staff, management, and regulatory bodies. 
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Ability to supervise and motivate accounting staff. 
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with accounting software and other relevant technologies. 
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in all financial reporting and compliance activities. 
  • Experience in the Gaming Industry: Preferable.
