THE ROLE:
The Breakfast Attendant position is generally responsible for preparing and replenishing the daily breakfast bar. Offering exceptional service, ensuring guests of the hotel are comfortable and satisfied with their experience. The breakfast attendant must maintain a clean, safe and sanitary environment for guests.
ACTIVITIES:
The duties and responsibilities for the Breakfast Attendant include, but are not limited to the following:
· Provide personalized service to all guests.
· Responsible for setting up and maintaining the breakfast buffet as required by brand standards.
· Follow menu requirements as provided by the brand.
· Prepare foods such as fresh fruit, bread, pastries, batters, and coffee.
· Stock coffee, juice, and milk.
· Set up serving dishes/trays, utensils, cups, and other paper products.
· Set out/arrange cold food, such as pastries, cereals, etc.
· Prepare and set up hot food items.
· Restock items consistently throughout the breakfast hours and for the next day.
· Maintain the breakfast area in a clean condition during the hours of operation.
· Clear and sanitize tables and chairs as they are vacated.
· Clean buffet counter and empty trash as needed.
· Wash serving equipment and return to storage.
· Return reusable food supplies to storage.
· Complete the required cleaning daily, based on the cleaning frequency chart.
· Serve as a pleasant, hospitable host, greet guests and provide assistance.
· Be sure that established service procedures are always followed. Thank the guest and invite them to return.
· Communicate complaints to the General Manager or shift supervisor, for immediate service recovery support.
· Responsible to check inventory levels of all food, beverages, and supply items on the buffet and replenish them as needed for each day.
· Assist General Manager with ordering or purchasing food supplies.
· Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and standards.
COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:
· Provincial serve safe certificate an asset (can be acquired upon hire)
· Active listening skills are required to recognize, understand and fulfill guest requirements.
· Ability to work with minimum supervision
· High school graduate or equivalent experience
· Excellent communication skills must also be able to read and write
· Demonstrated knowledge of guest service and a genuine desire to exceed guest expectations
· Availability to work the morning shift, any day of the week including weekends and holidays
