DescriptionPosition Summary
Under the general direction of the Manager, Hotel Housekeeping, this position is responsible for the overall supervision of Housekeeping operations and is responsible for scheduling and allocating workload. Assists with developing Performance Objectives and delivering Performance Evaluations for housekeeping team members; actively participates in the recruitment and hiring process. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
- Schedules and supervises housekeeping team m embers
- Allocates rooms and shared area workloads
- Assists the Manager, Hotel Housekeeping in developing Performance Objectives and delivering Performance Evaluations
- Prepares and submits requisitions for equipment, bedding, furniture and services to the Manager, Hotel Housekeeping for sign off on basic stock items
- Manages the guest and team member dry cleaning program
- Trains new team members
- Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
- Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and team members)
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
- Manages other initiatives as required
Education and Qualifications
- Post Secondary hospitality or hotel education or suitable combination of education and experience
- Minimum 1 year housekeeping management experience
- Food Safety Certificate, WHMIS
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
- Computer literacy in MS Office, Fidelio an asset
- Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
Work Environment Considerations
- Regular hotel and back-office environment, standing, walking or sitting for long periods of time, some exposure to noise, some exposure to verbal abuse, non-traditional work hours
