Position Summary 

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager in developing and executing hotel operations while upholding the property’s service standards. The AGM oversees the daily operation of all resort departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Valet, and Food & Beverage. Additionally, the AGM is responsible for financial management and for maintaining positive, professional relationships with guests, team members, sales representatives, and vendors. 

Essential Functions

  • Assist the General Manager and support the operations in all departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage 
  • Manage the guest experience by proactively addressing concerns, ensuring exceptional customer service, and supporting staff in exceeding guests’ evolving needs and expectations. 
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to conduct annual quality audits and set clear performance expectations. 
  • Lead, motivate, and develop departmental teams by setting standards, conducting thorough orientation, training, coaching, and facilitating ongoing feedback. 
  • Assist managers and supervisors with effective scheduling and staffing to meet or exceed guest service standards. 
  • Foster open, professional, and approachable communication with team members, maintaining high morale and a culture of continuous improvement. 
  • Ensure all brand standards and regulatory requirements are consistently met or exceeded across the property, including maintaining required licenses and permits. 
  • Provide a safe and compliant working environment, meeting OSHA/MSDS guidelines. 
  • Regularly review financial statements, sales reports, and operational metrics to assess productivity, goal achievement, and identify opportunities for cost reduction or improvement. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to operational excellence. 
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, service procedures, 4 Keys service standards, and safety and security procedures. 
  • Perform all additional duties as assigned by management.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to apply them in a dynamic environment. 
  • Participate in establishing goals and objectives for department. 
  • Must have strategic planning skills; ability to translate financial concepts into actionable business strategies and tactics. 
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Understand and align with the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel. 
  • Prioritize tasks, work efficiently with limited supervision, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. 
  • Communicate effectively in the primary workplace language, demonstrating excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills. 
  • Work well under pressure and in challenging conditions, using good judgment to resolve problems, follow directions, and collaborate effectively as part of a team. 

 

Physical Requirements 

The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to: 

  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently  
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time 
  • Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests in-person and phone conversation 
  • Ability to bend and twist, push, and pull, stoop, and kneel 
  • Ascend and descend a ladder 

 

Pay:  The annual salary for this role is $60,000 and is eligible for incentive based on performance.
