The Role

The Assistant Financial Manager will support the Financial Manager in overseeing the hotel’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with Hilton’s and Valor’s financial standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining sound financial controls, producing timely and accurate reports, and contributing to strategic financial planning that supports operational excellence and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Support daily accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with brand accounting policies, internal controls, and local statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management reports and assist in year-end financial statements.
  • Work closely with department heads to monitor expenditure, track revenues, and identify areas for financial improvement.
  • Assist in audit preparation and liaise with auditors and tax consultants when required.
  • Maintain accuracy in SUN accounting system entries, Opera PMS, and Micros Materials Control data integration.
  • Support the Financial Manager in cash flow management, capital expenditure tracking, and cost analysis.
  • Help train and guide junior finance team members to ensure compliance and accuracy across all financial processes.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a hotel finance department within an international branded hotel (100 rooms or more).
  • Prior experience as an Assistant Financial Manager, Chief Accountant, or Senior Accountant in the hospitality industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in SUN Accounting software is essential.
  • Experience with Opera PMS and Micros Materials Control systems is essential.
  • Experience working in Africa or developing markets is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi required.
  • Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Management.
