Assistant Banquet Manager - Full time

Four Seasons Hotel Seattle

Four Seasons Hotel Seattle is looking for an Assistant Banquet Manager who is enthusiastic about joining a team focused on creating the ultimate service experience. The Assistant Banquet Manager is a member of the operational leadership team providing direction to the award-winning employees who serve our event guests every day. This position reports to the Banquet Manager. U.S. work authorization will be obtained by the hotel for this position.

Key Elements of the Job

  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees, and supervisors in the Hotel’s Banquet Department to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met; daily activities and planning for outlet operation.

  • The ability to be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts.

  • The ability to work alongside operational teams, supporting all roles including server, houseman, and captain responsibilities.

  • Coordinate set-up requirements for hotel and off-site functions according to the banquet event order, communicate directly with group contacts, Catering Managers, and Conference Services Managers to ensure that all details of the function are carried out, ensure quality and timeliness of all food items, as well as provide knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience.

  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.

  • Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments. 

  • Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the banquet area and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed. 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • One to two years previous experience as an assistant manager in Banquets or Food & Beverage outlet

  • Working knowledge of the integration of divisional operations as well as Four Seasons cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures

  • Knowledge of food & beverage service, cost control, labor control, maintenance, merchandising, and accounting

  • Ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems, including MICROS, Microsoft Office, and labor management and payroll systems

  • Multiple communication approaches for various event guests and clients

  • Ability to proactively anticipate and prioritize the needs of guests and employees

  • WA State Food Handler's Card & M.A.S.T certification required

Benefits Include:

  • Annual Salary: $79,000 - $81,000
