If you're looking for a career that offers growth opportunities and values its coworkers, then join our growing team in Ewing, NJ as an Area Chief Engineer! The Area Chief Engineer will support the Courtyard by Marriott and SpringHill Suites properties in Ewing, NJ.
Our Area Chief Engineer will be responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of the hotel’s building, rooms, equipment and grounds in accordance with the policies, and profit objectives of the company to provide superior service and value to the customer, while also overseeing our Maintenance Techs at each of our York properties.
This is a Full-Time position with a typical schedule of Monday-Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm with an on-call rotation. (Note: days & hours may vary, including evenings, weekends and holidays).
Areas of responsibility for our Chief Engineers include:
- Ensures timely response to requests for services by guests, co-workers and management to include repairs or replacement of all interior equipment, furnishings and fixtures.
- Selects and hires maintenance helper(s) and is directly responsible for their orientation and training on an on-going basis.
- Insures superior maintenance, preventative maintenance, repair and improvements of building equipment and grounds.
- Maintains property management maintenance system (ServicePro), ensuring system is always up to date.
- Ensures high standards of maintenance/repair service are performed to include electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, heating and cooling, structural facilities, grounds and parking areas.
- Keeps swimming pool equipment in perfect operating condition, checks purification and treatment levels of pool water and ensures pool area is kept safe.
- Monitor the level and quality of services performed by outside contractors in accordance with all lease agreements, service contracts and warranties. Maintains accurate records including serial numbers on all equipment. Ensures implementation of ongoing preventative maintenance program and keeps accurate monthly records of services performed according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License.
- A high school diploma or general equivalent (GED).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in hotel maintenance or related field.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple co-workers and ensure that all High Hotel standards are being met.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in plumbing, electrical and HVAC
- HVAC Certification
- CPO Certification
