DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

 

The Mackenzie Hotel, located in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, provides visitors with exceptional hospitality services and a comfortable stay in the Arctic region. The Housekeeping Department plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and ambiance of the hotel, ensuring every guest enjoys a pleasant, welcoming experience. Housekeeping services extend beyond the hotel premises, covering multiple sites under our management to support our reputation for excellence.


JOB SUMMARY


The Housekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring that hotel guests enjoy a clean and comfortable stay. Reporting to the Housekeeping manager, the Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness an tidiness of guest rooms and common areas within the Mackenzie Hotel. This full-time role is in integral to maintaining the high standards of service that reflect the values and objectives of the IRC.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Perform a variety of cleaning activities in guest rooms and hotel common areas.
  • Inspect rooms for cleanliness and prepare them for guests' arrival.
  • Report any damages, deficits, or disturbances to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Respond professionally to reasonable guest requests and complaints.
  • Protect equipment and ensure no inadequacies in guest rooms or public areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS


Applicants must be/have:

  • Customer-oriented and friendly with an eye for detail.
  • Physical ability to perform housekeeping tasks.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team.
  • Positive attitude and strong sense of responsibility.

 

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • Previous housekeeping or related experience.
  • Familiarity with the hotel or restaurant industry.
